Australian Govt. Backs Switch
The Innovation Minister, Senator Kim Carr, today announced $10 million of support for 23 companies through Commercialisation Australia.
Switch Automation is the largest beneficiary in this round securing $2 million dollars of funding over two years to assist in the commercialisation of the Switch Sustainability Platform.
The Switch Sustainability Platform is a cloud based platform for automation and energy management in apartments, commercial buildings and homes.
The Switch Sustainability Platform provides a simple, cost effective and web-enabled solution for the flourishing Green Building market ensuring that building owners, managers, tenants and residents can monitor, measure and control their energy consumption.
Commercialisation Australia is assisting Switch Automation in their efforts to bring the platform to market.
Envi - Australia's Most Sustainable Classroom
Congratulations to the Dept. Education and Early Childhood Development (VIC) on the opening of their new sustainable classroom last Thursday officiated by Princess Mary of Denmark, seen pictured below.

The Envi classroom is the most sustainable classroom in Australia with a range of technologies from all over the world including the Danish Window Master, a KNX automated ventilation system. The Switch Platform is an integral part of the project providing energy and environmental data - both real time data and historical information for comparison and learning purposes.

The user interface pictured was customised for DEECD by Rav and his team over at Rise Designs and made use of the Switch API.

The project had some serious time constraints and was ably delivered by iAutomation of Carnegie, Victoria.
Distributech 2012
Intel has invited Switch Automation to participate at the annual Distributech event in San Antonio in January 2012.
This is another golden opportunity for Switch to showcase how the platform can be adapted for the emerging markets in Smart Grid and Home Energy Management Systems.
