Role

The primary responsibility of this Account Executive is to develop opportunities for revenue growth working, with the sales, marketing and engineering team. If you are looking for an innovative company that wants to make buildings smarter and healthier with a cloud-based operations infrastructure, this role is for you. You’ll work with a dedicated team of professionals from all around the world, from developers to marketers, engineers and data scientists.

Areas of responsibility

  • Cultivate and develop relationships with building owners, operators and facility managers seeking an open energy, sustainability, building operating system and facility management system
  • Communicate smart building technologies and architectures and how it solves customers’ problems
  • Work with sales development reps to develop sales campaigns that generate new customer leads
  • Actively drives the sales process from introductory calls and meetings (new sales) through post-sales (customer satisfaction, upselling and renewals)
  • Develop the competencies to make persuasive presentations, including demonstrations of the Switch smart building Platform to prospective customers, partners and influencers
  • Develop a deep understanding of the Switch software and our suite of products
  • Increase your network and our brand recognition by attending industry events and actively participating in relevant associations
  • Prepare the scope of work and respond effectively to RFIs/RFPs
  • Manage all customer companies, contact and opportunity details in the company CRM system

Qualifications

  • Ability to identify customer pain points, key customer needs and constructing a solution to meet customer requirements
  • Experience in building automation, integrated building systems/operations, facility management, energy management, and/or sustainability in the commercial building
  • Experience in solution-selling for energy and building operating systems
  • At least 2 years of experience in a previous business development or sales role
  • Experience in SaaS sales is a plus
  • Proficient with time management skills to prioritize deal creation, meaningful meetings and progressing the lead through the sales process
  • Work effectively with marketing, engineering and other colleagues to grow the business
  • Must be creative, persistent and organized to drive the pipeline via personal outreach, leveraging personal networks, research and mining of Switch resources such as CRM and inbound leads
  • Proficiency in various software tools including Microsoft Office, CRM tools
  • Enthusiastic about ongoing training to hone skills
  • Must be able to grasp new and complicated technical information
  • Ability to work independently
  • Flexibility for an environment and product that changes and grows with innovation

  • Keen interest in IoT, smart buildings/cities, and sustainability in buildings

 

Key Performance Metrics

  • Consistently meet or exceed sales revenue quota
  • Utilize CRM to track and maintain the pipeline and accurately forecast
