About Switch

Switch Automation is a rapidly growing technology company with offices in Sydney, Australia; Denver, Colo.; Manila, Philippines and Lviv, Ukraine.

Switch was founded with an ambitious goal to radically improve the way we operate buildings—to make a lasting, positive impact on our environment; and in recent years Switch has untethered some of the largest Fortune 100 companies from legacy building management technologies by delivering the world’s only end-to-end monitoring and management platform. It’s an especially exciting time at Switch, as the Internet of Things (IoT) and the smart building market matures, and Switch establishes itself as the premier smart building solution.

Role

The Smart Building Integration Specialist will spend most of their time in the Denver office, working with our Sr. Integration Director and Engineering Services team to swiftly onboard customer projects and remotely troubleshoot any technical integration issues. The candidate should also thrive on traveling, occasionally at the last minute,  to U.S. and potentially Australian locations to work with our customers on-site to physically inspect and resolve issues. The successful candidate will be comfortable communicating with everyone from direct customers and Switch engineers, to facility managers and hardware vendors. Equally important, this candidate must be extremely fluent in building controls architecture, technical integration and a wide variety of network configurations and communication protocols.

Areas of responsibility

  • Review technical specs, manufacturing diagrams and documentation to understand project requirements and accurately plan for implementation and systems integration
  • Conduct site audits to understand what networking, systems, sensors and devices exist
  • Configure, install or guide the installation of our IoT gateway and ensure connectivity
  • Establish personal relationships with our clients, including FMs / store managers /  executives
  • Prep, connect and test new systems in the Switch Platform
  • Work with Switch’s Engineering Services and Product Development teams to write new drivers, when needed
  • Keep the Switch team abreast of new field challenges and opportunities, as they may influence product roadmap planning or Engineering Services support

Qualifications

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
  • Building control experience with lighting, building management and metering systems
  • Detailed understanding of TCP/IP networks, configuration and architecture
  • Niagara AX experience and / or certification
  • BACnet, Lonworks and Modbus protocol expertise required [integration and network]
  • Troubleshooting and deep analytical skills, without overhead management support
  • Effective communication skills with a wide variety of audiences
  • Customer service experience, with the ability to make and keep friends
Preferred Skills:
  • Computer science background
  • Experience in at least 1 additional protocol
  • Familiarity with Haystack and BRICK conventions
  • Experience working in a small, agile company
