Existing Condition

Twelve engineers were spending 3-5 days each month aggregating disparate data from 3,000+ sites to report on sustainability initiatives.

Resolution

Historical data was uploaded via FTP to benchmark sustainability efforts. Data was segmented by location with the ability to consolidate at the corporate level. Using file uploads and APIs, data was collected in real-time from a variety of sources including: utility bill platform, work order platform, ENERGY STAR, building asset inventory, capital project planning, metadata from tenant surveys, and weather data. This information was integrated with data from energy meters, IAQ sensors, occupancy sensors and waste systems to continuously track and report efforts..

Outcome

With visibility into the best and worst-performing sites, users understand how sustainability initiatives and KPIs impact NOI and ESG. They use these indicators to prioritize capital projects for the sites that will drive bottom-line value and provide consistent data and reporting among facilities, sustainability and energy managers. In addition, digitization allows users to apply AI, machine learning and other forecasting tools to predict loads and model consumption to reduce environmental impact.
